Our resettlement service is managed by Mandy Mitten, herself a migrant from the UK. Prior to moving to New Zealand, Mandy worked as a consultant for The Emigration Group, so she is no stranger to providing advice and helping migrants to start a new life ‘Down Under’.
On leaving the UK all your previous comfort zones and trusted networks will be gone, close family members, friends and workmates will be left behind. You will be faced with building new networks and creating new friendships you can rely on. Our role is to help you do this as quickly as possible.
Our service begins with the provision of an extensive Pre - Departure Pack containing literally ‘heaps’ of essential resources to equip you to fully research and plan your move. Specially written guides cover topics such as accommodation, car rental, banking, schooling and healthcare. Add to this maps, DVD’s, magazines and books covering a wealth of subjects. You will also have access to our information call centre and on- line information desk for the entire period before you leave the UK.
Next comes our Arrival and Settlement Package, based upon the principle of empowering you to execute the strategy designed to help you and your family settle quickly. We prefer not to make decisions and provide ‘stock’ answers for you, but rather to design a strategy that will guide you towards asking the right questions, finding your own answers and thus make the right decisions for yourselves. This methodology has a lasting positive impact that creates a wonderful platform for your new life. A few of the inclusions in this package are: a mobile phone number (yours to keep), a temporary mailing address, a ‘meet & greet’ at the airport with transfer to your accommodation, a welcome pack of groceries, your own personal consultant assigned to help you develop a ‘strategy plan’ for your first vital twelve weeks. Add to this a selection of informative materials that the entire family will find helpful for many months to come, covering just about everything you can think of.
Finding somewhere to live is one of the biggest hurdles you will face. Relax, we have that covered too. Our affiliate company has invested in quality properties (and manage several others) which are available to rent, all ideally appointed for newly arrived families. If for whatever reason, one of these is not available, we are able to undertake a property search on your behalf to locate the best property we can find to meet your needs on arrival. This saves you time, stress and risk attached to having your first experience of your new country tainted by poor accommodation.
